“For when a child is born the mother is born again.” – Gilbert Parker
Universally, for humans and animals alike. There is this one fate that is intertwined, one destiny that we all share.
For some, it sadly past faster, for others, it was longer. Regrettably, some filled with pain and agony, others filled with endless love and joy. As life would have it balanced on a scale that may be unfair, we must still count this a blessing.
No matter the differences in the journey, we all share this same, inevitable experience.
It’s but the beautiful birth of a new beginning. A story to a new chapter. A new hope.
It is the destiny of a mother and her child. The beginning of motherhood.
“Mother’s love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved.” – Erich Fromm
There is nothing in the world that can compare to the love of a mother.
Woven into her fate and destiny, is you. Her child. The brightest stream of light that casts away the darkest of shadows. With it, sprouted new hopes and possibilities.
She not only birth you, but she also gave birth to the grace of courage, strength, and wisdom. That day, eternal love was born.
Motherhood is the greatest thing and the hardest thing – Ricki Lake
7.7 billion people in this world and she’s the only one.
This journey that you will walk with her is of pain and wonder. Thus, never will this be, ever again.
You have only this short time, to give her thanks, to give her joy. The same joy she felt in the moment she first laid her eyes on you.
Your ultimate goal in life as a child is to give her pride. To let her know that no matter what and all that you have been through, you’ll be there.
There may be doubts, fear, and uncertainty because of the painful past you may have shared together. But, stand firm for the future. Let it not sweep away your thoughts of a brighter day. What may be before will not be after!
So, remember this. Let it etched into the depths of your heart and brain. Know that, however tough it may be now, you’ll continue loving your mother. Never abandoning her, never disregarding her.
My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it. – Mark Twain
Unconditional. Every inch of her thoughts, there will be you within it.
Every choice she makes, every decision she takes. No matter how hard, it will always be for the good of you. Even so, you just may never know.
Life is a path of winding and unexpected turns, she will fall, make wrong choices. However, you must learn to be there for her, encourage her, forgive her, as she would do the same, for you too.
Remember your mission as a child to your mother:
To provide for her and love her till the light of her flames extinguishes beyond to eternity.
Regrets. And you’re aware of it.
You noticed the wrinkles in her face she tries so hard to erase, the broken smile she tries so hard to hide from everyone and the unshaken will she tries so hard to portray, every day. Never showing her deepest scars that were created from the past.
How you wished you could do better for her now and ever. All the times you failed, and can’t find the guts to tell her that you did, and yet she still stands beside and love you. Trying her best in her own ways to fix the things that broke you.
Truth is, every day you just want to give her a hug and tell her how much you love her. How much you are suffering deep down that you cannot provide for her now, and how much you worried about the time you have left before you may never get the chance to do so.
Strangely enough, though, you are well aware that deep down you can make her day all the better by just saying those three words, ‘I love you’, but you didn’t. And that fuels to the regrets of a vicious cycle.
The unworthiness you felt when you caught her gaze. How much it hurts but motivates you.
You said to yourself, until the day where you can provide for her the ease, pleasure, comfort and shield her from all the stress and worry of the world. Will you truly, truly be happy.
Let that be your fuel.
Forget the past. How silly for you to allow the darkness of bygones strangles you from all the possibilities of rekindlement. All that you want, is beyond your darkest thoughts that rule over you like an everlasting cloud.
All you must do is remember the beam of light that bounds you to her love, her fate. Her destiny. That light that is woven within her, courses as well through your veins from the very day of your birth. It is inevitable.
So, it doesn’t matter what day it is. Mother’s day or not. Let her know that through thick and thin, hurt and joy, that you’ll be there for her, for the rest of your life, and the rest of hers.
The greatest gift for her will never be in the material that you spoil her with. Rather, it will be the subtle message she detects in your actions. It will be also, the time from you given to her, that she so deserves.
Spend some time with her. That is all she needs.
To all mother and child out there. Savior the chances you have with each other. Cherish the memories of the past and the moments of the present for it made you who you both are.
Mother’s day is here. We never really believed in such a thing. Rather, we believed that every day is a day for mothers. Every day, to us, is a blessing given to us by our mother. So, to us, every day is a Mother’s day.
